I (Joan) became hopelessly addicted to fabric at a very early age.  Fabric scraps became some of my earliest toys.  I remember standing at my mother’s side collecting scraps from the latest project she was working on – and – then becoming very excited about my, little girl, creations!  The color, texture and pliability of fabric have never ceased to fascinate me.  I later worked in the garment industry and while there determined to learn as much as I could about the vast possibilities of working with fabric.  For many years I made most of the clothing my family wore – including my husbands suits.  After following my husband around the world with a long military career – I finally decided it was time to blend my fascination with fabric, experience and hard work into The Stitchin’ Post, a store front business I now share with you my wonderful customers and friends.
